Diary of a married woman

While scanning Rahul’s phone I was instantly caught by one of the message in his inbox. I generally don’t read his messages but I was curious this time as I could see Priya’s name too often in his inbox. Priya is Rahul’s boss who had accompanied us to Shirdi. In the first glance I disliked her, she dresses scantily and would pout on every photo-click; a woman who is mother of two shouldn’t be doing that. I had always been quite a moral police always. I just hated her. Priya had sent a message which was kind of joke but I was aghast to read the content. I don’t like or approve women/men sending jokes of obscene content (if I may call it so) or some of them were quite flirtatious. I flipped another message that was also similar. I immediately switched to ‘Sent’ column and that was it. Tears rolled down my cheeks to see response from my darling husband. I don’t know what to say. I washed my face as I cannot tell him that I scan his phone since once he lied to me about one of his crushes in the college. I kept silent for two days. I didn’t speak to him properly. I gathered courage on the third day as the thought was provoking me so much. I confronted him asking about messages. He was absolutely normal and said “so what??”I was mad at him. I knew that he doesn’t have an affair with her but why, what is the need of such messages. With a heavy soul I called Pallavi, she had always been there with me in thick and thin. She listened to me and said “You are over-reacting.” I was calm after that statement. People do such things. They consider this fun. No idea why is obscenity fun for them. Since that day, I promised myself that his messages are strictly his business. I love him and want to be with him but not at the cost of my peace. To my delight his boss changed and I think... “just think” that there are no such messages in his inbox.
